LEARN.NET PARTNERS WITH INSURANCESTUDY.COM TO IMPROVE WEB-BASED INSURANCE TRAINING
-- Partnership to bring online Continuing Education courses to Learn.net customers--
ATLANTA, GA (February 2004) - Learn.net and InsuranceStudy.com have signed an agreement that will allow InsuranceStudy.com's online continuing education (CE) courses to be immediately available to Learn.net's online learning customers. InsuranceStudy.com, headquartered in Northbrook, IL, provides more than 60 insurance industry CE courses and is certified to provide CE training in all 50 states. Learn.net customers who must meet state-mandated CE insurance requirements can now link directly to the InsuranceStudy.com web site to learn about and take courses.
Atlanta-based Learn.net's "MAPLE" solution (Multi-Adaptive Performance and Learning Environment) is successfully used by top insurance companies and other major and mid-sized corporations to provide online learning course assignment, scheduling, delivery, assessment and competency management to employees and virtual agents. The platform also includes tracking, reporting, notification and automated administration for learning administrators.
"Reducing training time in order to provide improved premium writing results as well as sharply reducing learning costs per employee is a prime focus for insurers today," said Larry Duckworth, CEO of Learn.net. "Importantly, present costs for travel, instructors, facilities, Web conference fees, phone charges, etc. can be significantly reduced through the combined Web-based learning platform and CE technologies from InsuranceStudy.com and Learn.net."
Existing company-directed CE training and certification is often expensively delivered through instructor-led or Web conferencing applications during business hours which absorbs valuable selling time. By accessing InsuranceStudy.com's state-certified CE courses any time and at any place from a PC, completely tracked and reported on for management-- including progress alerts-- insurers and agents can avoid such significant premium writing opportunity costs, which have a high impact on revenues.
"Existing Web-based CE solutions have limited total learning management capabilities for use by Insurance executives to control the full learning life-cycle," said Ed Zurek, President of InsuranceStudy and its parent, NetStudy. "The launching, tracking and reporting of InsuranceStudy CE courses by Learn.net's MAPLE solution is a uniquely powerful and complete addition."
Insurance companies using Learn.net's MAPLE solution can set the criteria and auto-assign over 500,000 required courses to over 90,000 employees in one weekend. The MAPLE platform provides time deadlines, email notifications to managers and learners as well as detailed progress reports with scores, including partial training efforts, to support their efforts. Mr. Duckworth cited several Learn.net customer examples of the proven benefits of MAPLE:
"Several of our customers' internal CE courses are also delivered, managed and tracked by MAPLE, including administering, grading and reporting Web-based tests within the solution," continued Duckworth. "In another instance- 30,000 employees of a major Insurance carrier were required to take Web-based education courses within a 3-week period and pass an assessment with 100% competency. Failure to pass the exam resulted in employees being cycled back through the training until they successfully passed. The MAPLE solution successfully managed the process and all 30,000 employees passed the assessment with an average of two attempts."
"When management wants to tightly control 'competency,' such as to limit E&O exposure, the MAPLE exception management includes auto-recycling the course if test standards are not met," he added. "These types of total learning management control capabilities from Learn.net have never been married with Web-based CE content before. Whole new premiums results, safety protections and learning cost reductions may now be realized through this relationship and we are excited for the new, unequaled benefits that will be provided. For carriers with independent agents, special programs can quickly be implemented that will enhance agents' loyalty to the carrier. The MAPLE solution can also be used to deliver and manage training on products, procedures, compliance, customer service and more."
